Did the Deep State Try to Kill Katie Arrington?

Late on Friday night, South Carolina state representative and Donald Trump endorsee Katie Arrington was seriously injured while riding as a passenger in a car hit by a driver going the wrong way. The driver, 69-year-old Helen White, was killed.

A state legislator involved in a car accident normally isn’t the kind of thing that makes national news, but Arrington just won a tough primary against sitting House member Mark Sanford. In turn, Sanford had drawn the wrath of President Trump after Sanford dared to disparage Trump.

Unsurprisingly, a Trump-backed insurgent candidate nearly being killed in a random car accident drew the interest of conspiracy theorists, and in particular, the amateur slueths of the QAnon movement.

After all, if there are no coincidences, there probably are no accidents, either.

Military Plane Accidents Have Spiked – Is It a Conspiracy?

On May 2nd, a Puerto Rico Air National Guard C-130 Hercules transport plane crashed on a highway outside Savannah, Georgia. Details of the accident are scarce, but it appears all five nine people on board were killed.

That a C-130 crashed and likely led to multiple deaths is a tragedy, but it’s also not a shock. The C-130 has been flying since the late 1950’s, and has about a 5% attrition rate due to crashes and accidents. It’s a sturdy plane, but the frames are old, and the plane can be unwieldy to fly.

This crash is also part of a disturbing uptick in military aircraft accidents in general – one that’s become fodder for conspiracy theories and supposed plots regarding the “deep state.”

“David Hogg Wasn’t At School” – A Conspiracy Theory’s Genesis

Having survived the shooting of his classmates, Douglas High School student David Hogg has since been the subject of a firehose of conspiracy theories calling him an actor from Los Angeles, a stooge of his FBI-linked father, and a plant paid by George Soros.

Now comes a new accusation against Hogg: that he wasn’t even at school the day of the shooting, but instead rode his bike there afterwards, shooting footage and pretending like he’d survived the incident. Naturally, if Hogg didn’t actually survive the shooting, his activism would be a sham, and his instant celebrity would quickly fade.

Early Wednesday morning, the brief reign of terror unleashed by the domestic terrorist mailing package bombs across Austin, TX, ended when the alleged bomber, 23-year-old Mark Anthony Conditt, was discovered, chased down by police, and with a SWAT team moving in, detonated an explosive device in his car.

And if you think an open-and-shut ending to a crime spree means there won’t be conspiracy theories about it…well, you haven’t read enough of my work.

The Flat Earth movement is a loose coalition of those who believe that the Earth is actually a disc,  and that depictions of the planet as a globe are fake. It’s a small cadre of internet dwellers, but it punches above its weight in terms of how vocal it is.

It boasts several extremely active Facebook groups, some heavily-watched YouTube videos, prominent celebrity believers, such as rapper B.O.B. and NBA star Kyrie Irving, and maybe the most important thing you need for success on the internet, countless woke memes.

And now, it’s having a film festival, exploring the idea that science has literally been lying to us THIS WHOLE TIME.
